Tribute to Andrew Aranda
Oct. 10, 1995 - Aug 10, 2018.
Andrew Aranda started scouting as a Tiger Cub in Pack 41. Upon completion of his Arrow of Light, he crossed over to Troop 41 and earned his Eagle in October 2013. During Andrew’s time in Troop 41, I had the privilege of being his Scoutmaster. He was the epitome of what an Eagle Scout is. When you think of the 12 points of the Scout Law, Andrew is one of those kids that mmediately comes to mind of who actually lived by it. Andrew was a hardworking and caring individual. The skills that he learned from the Boy Scouts taught him numerous life skills. Many of which he used during his six years of employment with Luci’s Marketplace, where he quickly rose to supervisor shortly after being hired. Andrew was also one semester away from nishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at ASU.
On August 10, Andrew Aranda had his life tragically taken from him. When I heard about Andrew’s untimely passing, it broke my heart. But, I found solace in the fact that during his short time on this planet, Andrew made a difference in each and everybody’s lives that he came across. Andrew was the kind of scout that people never forget. He had an infectious laugh and a bright smile, and always seemed to be in a cheerful playful mood, even when there were hard tasks to get done. He epitomized the Scout Motto: Be Prepared. On outings, Andrew always carried a home-made First Aid kit and was eager to use it whenever there was even a hint of an injured scout. His pack was usually stuffed with other necessities, energy bars, ashlights, extra batteries. He was well-liked by other scouts, but Andrew also was never shy about seeking the guidance and company of adult leaders, whom he loved to engage in deep and though]ul conversations at campsites or out on the trail.
Now, Andrew is soaring high above in the clouds, like an Eagle does, looking down upon all of us and still carrying on his legacy in everybody that knew him. His mother, Dorothy Green, was a highly- involved leader in both Cub Pack 41 and Troop 41. In addition to Andrew, she raised ve other children: Older brothers - Scott Fry (Eagle scout); Sean Fry; Sam Fry (Eagle Scout); twin sister, Sierra Aranda (Girl Scout Gold Award); and younger brother, Shane Aranda (Eagle Scout). He also had two older sisters: Season and Summer.
